1989, etching on abaca paper, approx 16 x 20 inches.
I did a junior year abroad in Paris where I studied in traditional ateliers. One atelier was etching studio 63, owned by Joelle Serve. She was as mean and domineering as it gets . However, I learned a lot. This was my first etching I did after the failed Piranesi jail that I was supposed to copy. She said it was a fluke. But there we go. I don’t pretend to be anything more than an idiot savant!
