I save loads of bits of detritus that I keep squirreled away and am always looking for new ways of making things. A doodle is an uninvested aesthetic, or conceptual play with materials and techniques. If I like the way it goes, I might expand this little doodle and make another big artwork like it. Or maybe not. A lot of these random doodles are in my Journal Series that I have been making since 1996 on 11 1/2 x 9 inch pieces of abaca paper from Dieu Donné. Others are little artworks that don’t have to apologize for themselves.
