This artwork was inspired by an enlightened friend whose soul recently left this earth.  I have some other similar artworks, but this is a winter interpretation. The pearl stars are mapped as they are in December with the milky way passing across the sky.   The flowers that I drew in the summer have become ghost flowers that are absorbed by the soil. Their gold shadows have become the vibrant roots that will be reborn in the spring.  I do not feel that life only exists in the limits of what we know of earth. To look up at the sky is to know that everything is connected.  This artwork is about our cyclical existence. To me, this reality is glorious and reassuring.
