Private, 2026,

Private, 2026, the nasty part of my Pucci undies, thread and graphite on abaca paper, 8 1/2 x 10 1/2 inches.

This is a “journal” piece for a reason. It is on the website because it exists, but I doubt anyone will actually look at it.

I am very emotionally attached to my Pucci underwear. A long story, but when I was very little, my father gave my mother a huge box of beautiful Pucci lingerie as a Christmas present. It probably was the first time that I was moved by something artistic.  To me, it was the most beautiful thing that I had ever seen that was made by a person. From there, I became obsessed by beautiful underwear, but never was able to find them, until I finally happened upon the Pucci store in Florence where my dreams came true and I actually met Emilio Pucci and he actually dressed me and gave me sage advice about colour while he did so. It was a highlight of my life.

These underwear have seen better days, but as I said, I am emotionally attached to them because they represent a lot to me, not only about my art awakening and a quest for the sublime, but also about my father, who died when I was 9.  He had an eye for beauty that my mother is not so interested in.
