Birch Trees Under Big Sky is an homage to the mountains in Vail. I really fear skiing, however to see such sublime views has compensated me. Shimmering birch trees line the sides of snowy mountains and are set against the Big Bright Blue Sky above. In the cold winter months, you can see the low sun setting through the almost translucent trees. Our tiny earth is inconsequential compared to the mystical firmament that surrounds it. That is why there is no more earth than the birch trees here. The 13 golden circles are the metaphorical center.
